That’s all there is for 2011

The final Watt Space exhibition for 2011 came down over the weekend and with that the gallery is closing its doors for the summer holidays to get ready for next year’s exhibitions.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved with the gallery to make 2011 such an awesome year. Thank you to all the exhibitors, volunteers and everyone who came into the gallery to see the work on show.

The gallery will open again in February 2012, with the first run of shows taking place from 1 – 19 February.

Starting the year off we have {COLLABRATIVE}, the third year graduating show, curated by Emily Coutts and Elric Ringstad, which will feature the work of 25 artists who have recently completed their Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle.

Also showing with {COLLABRATIVE}, are three solo exhibitions from Mark Mason, Brooke Fraser and Fariba Fereidony.

Mark will be exploring photographic panoramas in The Air in Between. In Animism, Brooke will be looking at the similarities between humans and animals. While Fariba will exploring the world of her imagination in Colour of Love, Colour of Rainbow.

The exhibitions will be officially opened at 6.30pm on Thursday 2 February by Michael Bell and David Middlebrook.
