Look See Exhibition 2013

Hey guys, submissions for the Look See Exhibition for 2013 are open! Here’s some info:

The exhibition will feature artwork inspired by the world of cinema from top-notch national and international artists, and we’re on the look-out for more fine pieces of art to add to the show. Wanna be a part of the show? Just check out the guidelines here. [http://www.lookhear.com.au/]

In addition to the ace artworks, there will also be a sweet lineup of prizes. Life’s good hey?

The simple steps to follow are:

1. Read the guidelines then create an artwork inspired by film (any medium including video)

2. Email it to submissions@lookhear.com.au before Monday 30th of September

3. Enjoy some key lime pie [http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/13810/key+lime+pie] whilst waiting for reply

4. Successful entrants send work in

5. Enjoy fame and money

Hi guys! There are a few art prizes calling for entries at the moment. Definitely worth looking in to and getting involved!

National Campus Art Prize 2013
UoN students have their chance to enter The National Campus Art Prize (NCAP) 2013 competition, so get working and submit your painting, photographs, sculpture or fashion item for your chance to be displayed at the national final in Adelaide! Entries close Friday 31 August.

Established in 1984, the National Campus Art Prize (previously National Tertiary Art Prize) is the premier tertiary art competition in Australia. The Prize is open to any student at a participating AACA campus (yes that includes UoN) from any background. The Art Prize attempts to draw out talents which may remain largely hidden otherwise and focuses on participation rather than elitism, so why not have a go?

Categories and prizes for 2013:
Painting / Works on paper / Printmaking (2D and must not exceed 1m square)
Photography / Photo-media / Electronic Art (2D and must not exceed 1m square)
Sculpture / Installation (3D and must not exceed 85cm cubed)
Fashion – Includes jewellery, ceramics and textiles

The NCAP will be run online this year with an all entries being displayed online with the finalists, chosen from the online entries, being displayed at the National Final in Adelaide.

Gosford Art Prize 2013
Gosford Regional Gallery is now inviting entries for this year’s Gosford Art Prize. The prize is open to all artists, with the exception of employees of Gosford City Council. All artwork must have been produced within the last 12 months. Prize money includes $10,000 First Prize, $2000 – 2 dimensional Prize, $2,000 – Sculpture Prize $2,000 – Photography Prize $2,000 – Ceramic Prize
